Description:

This multi-channel digital setting PCBA replaced the main control board for an EU-based machinery integrator whose standalone processing machines could no longer receive original spare parts. The old hardware used physical dials for parameter setup, and dial wear caused setpoints to drift after six to twelve months of continuous shop-floor operation, leading to inconsistent machine output. This board replaces the dials with push buttons and digital displays, so operators can read and adjust set values locally without a laptop or HMI terminal. Ningbo MingXi builds it as a printed circuit board assembly supplier for machinery integrators and OEMs.

Key Functions

  • Local setting: 12 tactile push buttons paired with digital displays, with each button mapped directly to one display channel.
  • Multi-channel output triggering: handles multiple outputs from a single board.
  • Wide-range DC input: accepts 12-24 V DC.
  • Rear-side power and output section: terminal blocks, power-supply electrolytic capacitors, and relay peripheral circuits.
  • Enclosure fit: mounting holes align with the original enclosure pattern, so customers don't have to modify the existing metal cabinet.

Technical Specifications

  • Operating input voltage: DC 12-24 V
  • Working ambient temperature: -10 °C to +55 °C
  • Independent setting channels: 8
  • Display: 0.56-inch 7-segment digital tube
  • Board dimensions: 272 mm × 210 mm
  • Mounting hole spacing: 248 mm × 186 mm
  • Button mechanical lifespan: more than 1,000,000 cycles
  • Communication interface: reserved plug-in terminal for Modbus RTU
  • Output driving type: transistor open collector output
  • Prototype burn-in test: 672 hours (28 days) continuous at 45 °C ambient

One-Stop Service and Customization

Most requests for this assembly come from customers retrofitting legacy machinery. Many are system integrators who want to skip a full hardware redesign: they keep their existing cabinet and only swap in this populated PCBA.

Prototype validation included a continuous 28-day burn-in at 45 °C ambient to simulate factory floor conditions. We fixed a minor thermal drift on two channels in an early prototype by adjusting trace routing near the power capacitors and upgrading the button switch rating.

One point to note before ordering: the reserved Modbus terminals are on the back side of the board, and the firmware needs custom tuning to link to an upper-level PLC system. The standard factory firmware supports only local button-and-display operation.

What to Send for a Quotation

  • Your original control board or enclosure drawing, if this is a replacement
  • Number of setting channels and outputs
  • Supply voltage and output driving requirements
  • Whether you need Modbus or PLC communication
  • Mounting hole pattern and estimated quantity

FAQs

Can this board replace a dial-based control board in older machines?

Yes. We built it as a replacement main control board for machines whose original spare parts are no longer available. Send your board or enclosure drawing, and we will match the layout and mounting holes.

Do operators need a laptop or HMI to change settings?

No. The push-buttons and digital displays let operators read and adjust set values directly on the board.

Does it support Modbus communication?

The board has a reserved plug-in terminal for Modbus RTU. The standard firmware covers local operation only, so connecting to a PLC needs custom firmware tuning.

How was the board tested?

During prototype validation, we ran a continuous 28-day (672-hour) burn-in at 45 °C ambient, simulating factory floor conditions.
